About Us
Our Mission
At MayyimHayyim, our mission is to foster a deeper understanding of Jewish rituals surrounding water, notably the practice of mikvah, while providing a welcoming, inclusive, and empowering environment for all individuals seeking personal and spiritual journeys. We celebrate life transitions through transformative rituals, educating and inspiring visitors about their significance in contemporary practice.
Our Vision
We envision a future where Jewish wisdom enriches personal experiences related to the cycles of life, providing an accessible, supportive atmosphere where everyone can explore and engage with traditions that resonate deeply within them. We aspire to serve as a resource for individuals and communities, helping to bridge ancient wisdom with modern practices.
Our History
MayyimHayyim was established out of a profound understanding that the ritual of immersion could serve a greater role in individual lives and communities. Founded in 2004 in Newton, Massachusetts, we created a world-class mikvah that merges Jewish tradition with contemporary sensibilities—and soon realized the necessity for an informational platform that could extend our reach beyond the physical walls of our facility.
Meet Our Founder: Cameron Stewart
Cameron Stewart, a dedicated advocate for Jewish ritual and community, conceptualized MayyimHayyim both as a facility and an educational platform. Cameron believed that immersing in water holds the potential to be life-altering. Their vision stemmed from firsthand experience with the transformative power of mikvah, igniting their journey to educate and empower individuals through teachings and access to enriching Jewish practice.

Recognizing the growth of digital outreach, we have established a comprehensive website designed to serve as a hub of valuable information regarding mikvah rituals and water traditions. Our objective is to provide resources, inspiration, and deeper insights that go beyond the physical experience; whether it is educational articles, virtual workshops, or community events, our platform bridges tradition with accessibility.
